Over 40% of Canadian jobs may be lost to automation in the next decade. - Toronto February 7, 2017

The Brookfield Institute for Innovation + Entrepreneurship has released a comprehensive report assessing how automation will impact future employment in Canada. The report finds:

  • 396,000 Canadian jobs are at high risk of being lost to automation by 2024.
  • The jobs at highest risk are customer facing - Retail Sales, Administration Assistant, Food Servers, Cashiers.
  • The jobs at highest risk that are not customer facing are Transport Truck Drivers.
  • The jobs at lowest risk include Trade (goods) Managers, Registered Nurses, Doctors and Teachers.
